Body/weight talk under the cut

I have been on this elimination diet to improve my allergies and this persistent cough. (I also have an appointment with an asthma specialist.) I haven’t really lost weight, which is okay. Except that the more I work out and the stronger I get, the more all the fat on my body seems to move toward the center. I describe it as a little donut around my bellybutton. Aesthetically, I just don’t like it, and it’s a wee bit uncomfortable, too. It flops around, and it’s in the way when I bend over. I was hoping this elimination diet would help zap the donut (because the eliminated foods include sugar, flour, rice, and dairy), but it seems to be worsening. Bodies are weird, y’all.

P started doing it, and I soon followed on. You get a nice razor (men’s style, but it works really well for me) and I get 4 blades delivered every other month for $6 including shipping. It’s so luxurious to change your blade every 2 weeks (you could also do every week). I would highly, highly recommend to any man or lady. It’s waaaay cheaper than buying all those blades. My desk faces a window onto my street. Like the nosy bitch that I am, I keep an eye on the people coming and going to the houses I can see.

My blinds are open but tilted up; it’s not super easy to see into my window, and there are easily 20+ windows out of which a person could be looking in order to see a person on the street.

Nonetheless, I would estimate that half of the people who come to visit or deliver to my across-the-street-neighbors get out of their cars, immediately know I’m looking at them, and look right up at me. It’s that sixth sense that tells them I’m watching. Eerie, huh?

P’s brother and his wife might move to Denver. I don’t really like them. They are self-absorbed nitwits who think the world revolves around them (and they are wrong, because the world revolves around me, duh.) They also think they’re really smart and cool when they are neither. But yeah, they refuse to ever come into the city when we’re in Chicago but they’re going to move to our home. Makes sense.

We dined al fresco (that means “outside” in case you’ve never taken a 2 week trip to Italy*) at lunch. The weather was outstanding, but we just had a super windy storm kick up, and I had to run outside and rescue the umbrella, which had been left open. It was a pretty hapless rescue. I am not good at things like umbrellas.**

Lila had a 103 fever yesterday for no apparent reason, so now she can’t go to school. (24 hour after fever rule.) She and P are out front playing. I keep hearing the sweetest little noises in my office.
